Your car may not have eyes, but pretty soon there’ll be a good chance that they can see. Not only that but do you ever find yourself in a situation where you’ve lost your car keys? Well, now you don’t have to worry because you’ll be able to open your car with just your face.
A new group called Toyota Connected (a subsidiary of Toyota Motors) is currently working with Microsoft to develop and implement new software technologies that will allow for a more connected experience between car and driver. For example, say your hands are full of groceries and you’re unable to open your trunk. The back-up camera in your car will then scan your face, verify that you are the owner and then promptly pop the trunk so you don’t have to break your arm attempting circus-level maneuvers.
Furthermore, the group is working on a method for collecting data in regards to hazardous driving conditions. As the car tracks and processes this data, it will then release it to the cloud to inform other vehicles and drivers with real-time information to plan alternate routes or to set their schedule accordingly.
No information has been disclosed as to when this new technology will be available for the public. But rest assured that here at Markville Toyota, our team of experts will be able to answer all your questions and help pair you with the car of your dreams. So come visit us located at Highway 7 East and McCowan Road in Markham to get the process started!
