Gone are the days of Sports Utility Vehicles, or SUVs. Toyota is now looking to push the envelope by introducing the masses to a new form of concept, the Urban Utility concept, the U2.
This vehicle is meant to take on anything the urban jungle throws at it. In the latest photos released of this eye-catcher, the interior space shows just one single seat. Toyota aims to provide an accentuated loading floor to create a vehicle that is capable of hauling cargo and people across urban terrain. The Japanese automaker also says that a removable passenger seat is available as well as rear seats which can be unfolded to create space for additional occupants.
The driver is treated to a simplistic dashboard which includes a classic-style ribbon speedometer and push-button transmission controls. Right now, Toyota is passing the U2 off as a design exercise to provide the public with a view of what goes into the creative concept process. That essentially means that we may not see a Toyota U2 vehicle roaming through Birchmount Road anytime soon.
However, if you’re in the market for a utility vehicle that is great at maneuvering the city and off-road landscape, be sure to visit Markville Toyota located on Highway 7 East just east of McCowan Road and let one of our experts get you into the vehicle of your dreams.
