Used Vehicles - Comprehensive Coverage Plan - Benefits
ECP Comprehensive Coverage extends the benefits of the Powertrain Coverage Plan and Major Component Coverage Plan, and covers you for 16 mechanical component groups. This plan is available for vehicles that are up to seven years old.
Extra Care Protection provides inflation-protected coverage for unexpected mechanical failure, road emergencies, and other services to ensure your peace of mind motoring and protect your investment. It is an affordable and cost-effective way to enhance your ownership experience and preserve the resale value of your used Toyota vehicle. To benefit from ECP, you must purchase the plan at the same time you buy the used vehicle from your Toyota dealer.
What if the Vehicle Still has a Factory Warranty
Extra Care Protection provides extensive coverage options for both leased and purchased vehicles, including towing, emergency road service, rental assistance, trip interruption assistance, and travel planning assistance. Even after the factory warranty has expired, ECP can cover your used vehicle for up to 36 months or 60,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
Used Vehicles - Comprehensive Coverage Plan - Benefits
The ECP Comprehensive Coverage provides you with the advantages of both the Powertrain Coverage Plan and the Major Component Coverage Plan, safeguarding you with coverage for 15 mechanical component groups. This plan is applicable for vehicles that are up to seven model years old.
Vehicle Engine
The covered components under the Powertrain Coverage Plan of ECP include the engine block, cylinder heads, timing chain tensioner, valve covers, oil pan, engine mounts, intake and exhaust manifolds, turbo/supercharger assembly, crankshaft pulley, harmonic balancer, flywheel, flex plate, starter ring gear, oil pump, air cleaner assembly (excluding air filter), engine oil filter bracket/union, balance shaft, and balancer housing.
Manual Transmission / Transaxle
The transmission case and all of its internally lubricated mechanical parts, as well as the extension housing, mounts, clutch master cylinder, and clutch release cylinder are covered by the plan.
Automatic Transmission / Transaxle
The transmission case and all of its internally lubricated mechanical parts, as well as the extension housing, mounts, clutch master cylinder, and clutch release cylinder are covered by the plan.
Front / Rear Wheel Drive
The mechanical parts of the differentials and their internal lubricated components, along with CV-joints, U-joints, bearings, bushings, propeller shafts, axle shafts, yokes, and couplings are all covered components.
Four Wheel Drive (4WD)
Transfer case and all internally lubricated mechanical components, front/center/rear differential assemblies and all internally lubricated mechanical components, front hub and spindle assembly (including locking device).
Front / Rear Suspension
The mechanical components covered under this section are suspension arms, stabilizer bars, rear carriers, ball joints, bushings, struts, shocks, and wheel bearings.
Steering
The covered components comprise the steering gear housing and its internally lubricated mechanical parts, as well as control valves, steering column, steering column shafts and couplings, steering knuckles, power steering pump and pulley, pressure hoses, rack ends, bearings, cooling lines, and power steering fluid reservoir tank.
Brake System
The components covered under this plan include the master cylinder, master cylinder reservoir, brake booster, calipers, parking brake lever and linkage, proportioning valve, backing plates, wheel cylinders, brake lines and fittings, and ABS actuators.
Cooling System
The covered components include the water pump and its pulley, the coolant reserve tank, thermal fan switch, coolant solenoid valve, fluid coupling, cooling fan assembly, engine oil cooler with lines, and radiator.
Air Conditioning & Heating
(Covering only original equipment or manufacturer-approved kits). Covered components include the compressor and its pulley, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, control units, magnetic clutches, receiver/dryers, amplifiers, servo motors, cooling fan motors, pressure switches, blower motors, and heater cores.
Fuel System
The covered components include the fuel tank, fuel pump, throttle body, injectors, fuel level sending unit located in the tank, fuel lines, valves, and fuel regulators.
Seals & Gasket / Fluids & Filters
The ECP coverage also includes all seals and gaskets utilized to prevent fluid and lubricant leaks in the covered components. Additionally, every ECP repair necessitates the replacement of coolant, refrigerant, transmission fluid and filter, engine oil and filter, hydraulic fluids and lubricants if needed due to the failure of a covered component.
Electrical System
The covered components include the alternator and its pulley, starter assembly, power window motors and regulators, exterior mirror motors, electric door lock actuators, power seat motors and gears, sunroof motor, wiper motors, power antenna, distributor (excluding cap, rotor, and wires), direct ignition coils for distributor-less systems, electronic ignition igniters, cruise control actuator, transmission shift solenoid, wiring harness, washer pumps, headlight washer pump, horns, power point sockets, as well as all manually and mechanically operated factory-installed switches.
High Tech Factory Installed
The plan covers all sensors, computers (including, but not limited to, those for cooling system, keyless entry, theft deterrent, sunroof, air conditioning, transmission shift, steering control, ABS/VSC, and shift lock), air flow meter, idle air control valve, EGR valve, vacuum switching valve, body and door control modules, electronic heater/A/C control, and wiper control module.
Owner Maintenance Items
The Toyota Extra Care Protection Plans for used vehicles exclude maintenance components such as, but not limited to, bulbs, trim, moulding, glass, lenses, paint, exhaust system, brake pads, linings, and upholstery. These components are regarded as part of ongoing maintenance and fall under the vehicle owner's responsibility. Additional information regarding the owner's obligations can be found in the owner's manual supplement.
